Cessna Grand Caravan

The Garmin G1000 glass cockpit utilises the latest technology available to general aviation aircraft. The Synthetic Vision option gives the pilot the benefit of 3D terrain mapping, making this the safest caravan manufactured to date.

Cessna have built over 2100 Caravans over the last twenty years. They have accumulated more than 11 million flying hours and have one of the best safety records of any aircraft in their class.

Airborn Luxury

The Oasis Luxury interior on this aircraft is the best available in the Cessna Caravan series. Featuring reclining, fully rotating leather seats deliver first class comfort. Each passenger has a quality headset to communicate with each other or listen to the travel host’s commentary during the flight as he/she gives you interesting information about the animals and the scenic highlights as you fly over them.

The Aircraft

Scenic Air Safaris operates using Cessna 208 B grand Caravans. Cessna have built over 2200 Caravans over the last twenty years. They have accumulated more than 12 million flying hours & have one of the best safety records of any aircraft in their class. For bush flying in Africa no aircraft can match the Caravan. Each plane with its Oasis Luxury interior, seats 8 passengers in executive comfort, with an additional seat up front next to the pilot for those wanting a different flying perspective as the safari unfolds. Two seats at the rear accommodates the guide throughout the air safaris.

The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan is a plane of the newest generation, equipped with the most modern equipment such as digital weather radar, Garmin 3D navigation system & air conditioning. Your private airplane has 11 passenger seats, including eight executive First Class seats. Enjoy the comfort of soft leather, reclining seats with the ability to move in all directions ensuring maximum leg space – allowing you to travel ‘in style’. During the flights, your guide will give you information about the wildlife & the scenic highlights soaring over the terrain & national reserves below via intercom to your individual headphones. Observe the passing elephant herds, the hippos close to the rivers & the extensive African Savannah from a close distance. This combines to create what is truly a unique scenic flying experience.

The Crew

Our internationally experienced pilots have accummulated thousands of flying hours experience all over Africa, & know the routes & territory extremely well. They have identified refueling stops along the way & determined all immigration & customs stops en route to minimize any inconveniences at border crossings. They have detailed knowledge of all airports & the relevant bush landing strips.

On board throughout the Scenic Air Safaris, a professional safari guide (KPSGA Silver Level) will accompany each journey to ensure every aspect of your trip is taken care of. They have years of experience in Africa & an intimate knowledge of the wilderness & its wildlife inhabitants. Backing up their natural history skills, our guides may have specific interests in ornithology, botany, anthropology or archaeology. We will endeavour to match such an interest if so requested.

If you need additional services, such as hotel bookings or airport transfers, we are happy to organize them for you and your guests. If you arrive or depart from Moi International Airport, we are able to offer you first class services by picking you up at arrival and transfering you by aircraft to your final destination.

Additionally the Deluxe package is available at a surcharge. This includes welcome meet and greet, picnic hamper including sparkling wine, fresh juice, a selection of cheeses, cold meats and other vol-au-vents. In addition on the Deluxe package we guarantee arrival at the airstrip a minimum of 30 minutes prior to scheduled pick up time.
